The AT&T Data Breach Class Action Settlement offered up to $177 million in compensation to affected customers across two major data breaches that exposed sensitive personal information.
What Happened
AT&T experienced two significant data breaches affecting millions of customers:
- Breach 1 (announced March 30, 2024): Affected approximately 73 million current and former customers. Exposed data included names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth, account passcodes, billing account numbers, and Social Security numbers.
- Breach 2 (announced July 12, 2024): Affected approximately 109 million individuals. Exposed phone numbers, call interaction data, call durations, and cell site identification numbers.
Settlement Details
The total settlement was divided into two funds:
- AT&T 1 Data Incident: $149 million
- AT&T 2 Data Incident: $28 million
Potential Payouts
- Breach 1: Up to $5,000 for documented losses, or a pro rata share (higher tier if SSN was exposed)
- Breach 2: Up to $2,500 for documented losses, or a pro rata share
Claim Deadline
The deadline to submit claims was December 18, 2025. Unfortunately, this deadline has now passed and new claims are no longer being accepted.
