The new Inotiv data-breach settlement compensates U.S. persons notified that private information was compromised in the August 5-8, 2025 intrusion. Its securities settlement separately compensates investors over the 2021 Envigo acquisition, not identity-theft risk.
The Doyal data-breach settlement is the new claim process for breach victims. The older investor case is In re Inotiv Securities Litigation No. 4:22-cv-00045, and the two cases are unrelated, according to the SEC 8-K summary via StockTitan.

Who is in the new breach class?
The breach class covers U.S. persons whom Inotiv notified that private information was compromised in the intrusion.
It excludes judges, Inotiv insiders and opt-outs, according to the official settlement site. A notice letter or email naming you as affected points toward breach eligibility. Stock ownership alone does not create breach eligibility, and a brokerage statement alone does not replace a breach notice.
What does a breach claim require?
A valid claim must be filed by December 2, 2026 online, by mail to Santa Ana, CA, or by email to [email protected]. No payment issues without that timely valid filing. Claimants choose one path when they file, according to the official settlement claim form:.
- $45 cash payment without proof of loss
- documented relief up to $500 for ordinary expenses, up to $4,000 for identity-theft losses, and up to $80 for 4 hours at $20 per hour, plus two years of monitoring
- extraordinary fraud losses only for unreimbursed fraud between August 5, 2025 and September 10, 2026, where the claimant shows the breach more likely than not caused it and other recovery was pursued
What does the securities settlement cover?
The $8,750,000 securities settlement covers investors who bought Inotiv stock September 21, 2021 through May 20, 2022 or held shares on October 4, 2021 to vote on Envigo at the November 4, 2021 meeting, according to the Angeion long-form settlement notice. That definition turns on trades and voting ownership, not on receipt of a breach notice.
The legal theories also differ. The securities case alleges false or misleading statements about Envigo RMS and Animal Welfare Act compliance that inflated Inotiv's price. The breach case alleges failure to protect personal data.
Which portal should you use?
Use InotivDataBreachSettlement.com only for the breach claim and InotivSecuritiesSettlement.com only for the investor claim. Breach notices do not qualify holders for the securities payment, and stock ownership alone does not qualify for breach benefits. Match your document to the portal before you act:.
- breach notice with intrusion dates and claim deadline means breach portal
- brokerage records showing purchases from September 2021 to May 2022 means securities portal
- both documents means evaluate each settlement separately under its own rules
